Всем привет, такой вопрос, работаю в Украине конструктором мебели, работа в программах Базис мебельщик, Autocad, Pro100. Для работы здесь этого достаточно. Как обстоят дела в США с этой профессией и в каких программах работают у них? Спасибо:)

Intermediate Designer / 3D Modeling / Product Development:
We are looking for an individual who has an interest in furniture design with a good eye for detail and a high proficiency in digital modeling (specifically Rhino).
The position will include digital modeling of new designs and prototypes, and coordination with our production and outsourcing departments. Work with our production and outsourcing departments will include research and development for new methods of fabrication in-house or by outside vendors (both domestic and abroad).
While we are currently offering a part-time position we hope to attract an applicant that could transition into a full time role.
Although this role will be rooted in digital modeling, we are looking for a person with an interest in all manner of tactile materials and aiding us in our undertaking to elevate our design and fabrication capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Execute design concepts through two dimensional drawings, three dimensional parametric models and prototypes under the direction of Design Team
Responsible for preparation of design documents that meet project requirements and office standards
Responsible to organize and prepare design presentations
May participate in design presentations
May communicate with clients
May coordinate work with consultants
Format files for laser cutting and CNC work
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency with Rhino,
Knowledge of other modeling software (such as Revit, Sketchup and Solidworks) is a plus
Proficiency with Adobe Suite preferred
Effective communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $22.00 to $30.00 /hour
Experience:
Rhinoceros 3D: 2 years (Preferred)
Design Development: 2 years (Preferred)
Fabrication: 2 years (Preferred)

Некоторые мои знакомые работали в этой области. Чертили shopdrawings в автокаде. Не уверена, что мебель чертят в ревите, но вообще это очень популярная программа тоже. Для 3д в основном rhino и немного 3дмакс и скетчап. Для моих знакомых это была работа за очень небольшие деньги - 16-18$ в час.
