Я наконец-таки получила Final Asylum Approval, получила все необходимые документы, и вместе с решением информацию о бенефитах, социальной поддержке, cash assistance, food stamps, медицинскую страховку. Поскольку у меня слабый английский, и найти официальных сайтов Welfare я не смогла, то вопрошаю у всех, кто прошёл через это… Только ли Welfare выдаёт помощь? В каких размерах помощь приблизительно? И как это лучше сделать? Буду признательна оооооочень за любой совет, любой… Я живу в Сан-Франциско… Заранее спасибо…

Позвольте, это каким-то образом относится к моему вопросу? Безусловно намерена работать, но поскольку я имею право на поддержку, имея многочисленные долги за 7 месяцев ожидания моего кейса, я считаю, что это было бы действительно неплохим подспорьем для моего положения в данный момент. Помимо того, что я намерена работать, я и в колледж поступать собираюсь, вообще планов очень много… Но сейчас как говорится шаг за шагом хочу просто придти в себя, и пока ищу работу, хотела бы наконец увидеть небольшую помощь государства о которой слышала не раз…
А государство оплачивает и колледж?

Working in the United States
If you are granted asylum, you are authorized to work in the United States whether or not you have an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). If for some reason you do not receive an EAD after being granted asylum, you should contact the asylum office that granted your case. You may use the EAD to present to an employer as a List A document on the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification Form. Obtaining a Social Security Card
You may immediately apply for an unrestricted Social Security card at a Social Security office once you have asylees status. Asylum for Family
You may request derivative asylum status for your spouse or children who were listed on your asylum application. For more information, see the “Family of Refugees and Asylees” link to the right.
Permanent Residence (Green Card)
After one year in the United States, you may apply for permanent residence (a green card). You must file a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, for yourself and each qualifying family member who wants to become permanent residents.

Travel Documents
Asylees are subject to special rules for traveling outside the United States. If you plan to leave the United States, you must receive prior permission to by obtaining a refugee travel document.

Change of Address
You must inform USCIS of your new address within 10 days of moving. You may do so by:

All male asylees between the ages of 18 and 26 must register for the Selective Service. Вы имеете право обращаться в НЕГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЕ организации, оказывающие помощь беженцам и переселенцам. Да, некоторые штаты имеют локальные программы помощи малоимущим, но это не вэлфер от SSA. Это программа штата. Причем даже штат лично вам ничего не должен. Вам предоставили ПРИВИЛЕГИЮ легально находиться в стране, но вам никто ничего не должен.
Автор нигде не писала, что ей кто то что то должен. Она всё правильно понимает - у неё есть право, прописанное в законе. Беженцам в любом штате предоставляются 3 веши на 9 месяцев: медицина, деньги и фуд стемпы. Сусшествуют другие типы помоши, о которых я уже писал по ссылке из предыдушего сообшения. Самый лучший способ - обратиться в русскоязычную [community] организацию.
