Вообщем намедни делал сделать тест по-английскому, и разумеется, нашлись вопросы, в ответах на которые, я не полностью уверен, хотел бы попросить знающих язык людей помочь в этом деле. Это займет не больше 3-4 минут.

Спасибо, почти все ответы сошлись. за исключением 8-го. Это такое устойчивое выражение?
Не затруднит ответить еще на 7-8 вопросов? Хочу себя проверить :slight_smile:

я совсем непоняла ,что означает это устойчивое выражение)),нельзя ли у вас попросить обьяснения…?

Это означает from time to time, или частенько

зачастую значение устойчивых выражений легче в словаре(ях) посмотреть и запомнить, чем пытаться понять :wink:

  1. B - вместо borrowed нужно lent
  2. B - должно быть lived
  3. C - должно быть are
  4. B - должно быть drop
  5. A - thousands of years
  6. A ? - не совсем уверенна, но как по мне так не хватает артикля a в начале предложения
  7. A - должно быть letting her go
  8. D - по идее это предложение должно закончится на слове better, но ошибка точно там, the не используется перед another, либо просто another, либо the other

По-моему, здесь ошибка в употреблении rising vs raising.

Верно, а я на герундии сосредоточилась, хотя инфинитивная конструкция тоже возможна. Вы правы.

as far as I know, both variants are possible lifelong - definition of lifelong by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

However, how I can see now, lifelong is more standard. So yes, the answer is probably D. Why is there no article though?

А вообще странный тест, корявые предложения. Откуда он?
Например, мне бросилась в глаза ошибка в предложении про внуков, grandchildren уж точно пишется слитно.

Ох уж эти тесты на знание грамматики.
Если кому делать нечего идите сдавайте IELTS, а не пустяковые тесты.

а, ну да, ph должно быть:letmein: Но тогда ответ все-равно А, а не D. И, кстати, life-long все-таки неправильно.
Я ж говорю, странный тест.
