Some of our students are reporting information on Facebook and other social media sites that there are “Creepy Clowns” or “Killer Clowns” roaming the streets trying to lure children into woods or threatening to do them harm. I write to inform you that this is an internet hoax.

Your child’s safety is the utmost importance to us. As you can read the attached update from USA TODAY, The Creepy Clown reports are mostly false, and can be attributed to movie promotion, instigators playing pranks, or people spreading and “localizing” the hoax on social media.

This is an opportune time for you to discuss internet safety, misinformation, and hoaxes perpetrated on the internet. Please reinforce to your children that it is important to verify information before sharing it across social media.

Хорошо вам. У нас вон на хайвее повязали двух обкурившихся в масках клоунов. Они резко оттормаживались перед другими машинами и строили страшные рожи водителям. В машине нашли наракоту и ножик.
Теперь все - дети обсуждают, что по городу гоняют клоуны с ножами.
